Responsibility

Peru Mountain Rides (PMR) act as responsible agent to assure all arrangements for trips, the company and/or any of its employees are responsible of any personal injuries or baggage damages produced by any support service as cargos, lodgings, or any other third part services. PMR is not responsible of any delay out of our control as flights or ground transfers and weather events. If one of these events happens cost must be covered by passengers. PMR reserves the right of not accept or retire a passenger during the trip. Biking lessons are not provided, passengers accept to be skilled on mountain biking. Use of helmet is mandatory.

Meals, lodging and transfer services

Lodgings are included from beginning to the end of tours. Rooms are twin or triple and include private bathrooms as availability.

Single rooms’ need an additional payment, if not booked you’ll be lodged with another passenger.

Meals will depend on destination. Water is served in sealed bottles. Fruits and snacks will be buy locally.

Kind and size of transportation depend on the amount of passengers and kind of trail.

Guided tours that allow full vehicle support allow picking up tired bikers or bikes with mechanical problems.

Exclusions

Tour prices doesn’t include transportation to start points, travel insurances, price for extra weight on personal equipment. Meals not specified are not included, as any tour or activity not listed in itinerary. Drinks, tips and entrance fees are not included.

Equipment

Passengers must bring their own bikes in perfect condition. Each passenger is fully responsible of starting and ending point transportation.

Bookings and Payments

A deposit of USD 500 per person is required when booking until 60 days before initial date tour. 100% must be paid 45 days before tour departure date.

Payment must be done by money account transfer.

In case we arrange some partial payment it should be done in cash locally or by credit card adding the bank sales commission.

One made the first deposit we pre book all the local services.

Bookings and services are confirmed when 100% payment is made.

Tour cancellations

If cancelling is demanded:

** Money back of the amount paid minus USD 500 of managing spends.
** No money back in the previous 30 days of tour date. No exceptions, including situations out of our control.

Insurances and safety

Personal safety during the trip is fully and only responsibility of passenger. We recommend taking a travel assistant card.

Additional Responsibilities

The respect of local law, culture, and privacy of other members are included. Very important follow the suggestions and advices of guides and/or tour conductor.

How to Sign Up for a Tour

To join a PERU MOUNTAIN RIDES tour please check the availability (link a reservation). Within 30 days you must pay your nonrefundable deposit(s) for each per person either by wire transfer. Space will be held for only 30 days. If you have a current tour application, please complete, initial and sign it and include it with your deposit(s). If you do not have a current tour application or need additional applications, please request them to be sent to you immediately. On receipt of your deposit(s) and completed Tour Application(s), PERU MOUNTAIN RIDES will send you a detailed Tour Handbook, statements, and sample itinerary.

NOTE: Your tour reservation is considered confirmed only when we receive your completed, signed, and unaltered tour application.
Do not delay completion of this tour application while waiting for your passport renewal as missing passport numbers can be supplied at a later date.

Covered Expenses

Land cost includes hotels (double occupancy), land transportation, local airline tickets, local airport taxes, airport transfers only on the first and last day of the itinerary and only to or from the hotel indicated on the tour itinerary, other transfers specified in the itinerary, english-speaking expert guides, guided tours, breakfast and lunch, baggage handling and storage at tour hotels, tours as indicated, fees to museums and archeological sites and sightseeing arrangements as specified.

Expenses Not Included

Services unless specified otherwise in the itinerary above such as international airline tickets, international airport taxes, bicycles, safety equipment (helmet, kneepads, glasses, gloves, camelbak, etc), evening meal, transfers to any hotel not specified in the itinerary, any extra services or any deviations from the tour itinerary, tips for hotel services and guides, laundry, alcoholic beverages, excess baggage charges or other items of a personal nature. Price also excludes any insurance coverage for travel accident, medical costs, hospitalization, evacuation, baggage delay or baggage theft and any other extra expenses due to unanticipated changes in our itinerary for reasons beyond control. (we recommend you obtain coverage for these items)

You will need to carry about $500 extra cash (must be in local currency or US dollars cash, not travelers checks nor credit cards) to cover the fees, taxes, tips and evening meals not included in your itinerary. Besides that, if something happens to your bike during a tour, you can rent a good one here for US$ 40 per day.

Payments

To confirm space send your 50% nonrefundable but transferable deposit for each person to (Nro de cuenta swift) when you receive the confirmation for your reservation and send the wire transfer information (link a form de envio de transferencia en reservation). You must send the other 50% at least 30 days before the tour. If tour payments are not paid when due, PERU MOUNTAIN RIDES reserves the right to treat the reservation(s) as cancelled and to accept new reservation(s) for the space(s).

Requested single accommodations for an entire tour or suite up-grade, requires an additional nonrefundable deposit to be paid at the time of booking.

Cancellations, Transfers, Refunds

The deposit is nonrefundable. However, if we receive written notification cancelling your reservation at least 120 days prior to your planned departure, a one-time transfer of this deposit (less a $200 per person processing fee) may be made to another date or to another person for any PERU MOUNTAIN RIDES tour that will depart anytime within one year from the original departure date. A transfer to another tour or departure date with less than 120 days notice before departure is considered a cancellation and rebooking of a reservation; thus all payments to date will be subject to the cancellation penalties below.

If we are notified in writing of cancellation of your reservation more than 150 days but less than 180 days prior to your tour departure, the deposit will be forfeited. After that time all payments will be refunded less the following cancellation fees computed as of the date of our actual receipt of written cancellation notice:

Once a tour has started there will be no refunds for any unused portion of the tour. This includes any pre-tour or post-tour arrangements, transfers, meals, tours, hotels and any “no shows” due to delay or failure of transportation to arrive or depart on time. Insurance coverage for such risks may be purchased.

Tour Insurance

To cover your investment in your tour and any unforeseen medical emergencies, we recommend you purchase an insurance coverage that would reimburse you for lost baggage or travel documents, accident death or dismemberment, and coverage for emergency medical expenses including emergency medical evacuation.

Special Diets

If we receive at least 45 days’ notice, we can usually accommodate special dietary requests. For vegetarians there are usually plenty of fresh vegetables, rice, potatoes, fruit, and juices. You may wish to bring your favorite snacks if you are on a restrictive diet.

Smoking

If you are a smoker and we cannot pair you with a suitable other smoker, we must charge you an additional fee for a single hotel room as nonsmokers prefer not to share hotel accommodations with smokers.

Accommodations & Traveling Alone

Accommodations are based on double occupancy, two persons for room. Most single travelers are easily paired with a tour member of the same sex.

However, if there is no appropriate member with whom you may share, you may have to pay a single supplement for the tour or for single hotel accommodations to cover our additional costs.

Level

All tracks are in an intermediate level (not begineers)

Physical Fitness

These tours may be taken by anyone in good physical condition. Even an easy tour is more enjoyable if you are fit. You are encouraged to get in shape by exercising regularly. Running, hiking, swimming, bicycling, and aerobics are all good conditioners. Please call us if you have any questions about your ability to do a particular tour. Once a tour has started and it is necessary for you to leave the tour because it is beyond your physical abilities, please note that there will be no refunds for any unused portion of the tour.

Medical

You must be in generally good health. It is vital that persons with medical problems and related dietary restrictions make them known to us well before departure. Our staff will discuss with you the advisability of the particular tour you have selected. The tour leader has the right to disqualify any member from the group at any time if considered medically necessary to avoid endangering the welfare of the group. Refunds are not given under such circumstances.

PERU MOUNTAIN RIDES is not a medical facility and has no expertise or responsibility regarding which medications or inoculations you and your private physician should decide necessary for your safe participation on the tour.

PERU MOUNTAIN RIDES assumes no liability regarding provision of medical care. Tour members are urged to check their coverage to be sure it is adequate.
If you haven´t international  insurance  you can take a local accident insurance here in Lima for US$10 per day.
